Black Myth: Wukong arrived as one of the most talked-about action RPGs in recent memory. Built around the Chinese novel Journey to the West, it casts players as the Destined One, a monkey hero inspired by Sun Wukong, and sends them through a punishing, stylish world of staff combat and magic. For newcomers in 2026 or returning players checking the details, the game originally became available on PC and PlayStation 5 on Tuesday 20th August 2024. The Xbox Series X/S version was delayed at launch because Game Science said it needed more optimization work, which made PC and PlayStation 5 the first platforms to receive it.
